Don't worry, be proactiv

Around the clock, the sensors of your Smartwatch monitor heart function, blood pressure, blood sugar and blood lipids and report an increasing risk of cardiovascular problems and diabetes so early that you can take countermeasures in time. Your gait is also analyzed to detect subtle abnormalities that indicate early neurological disease. And during a full bath, your skin is scanned for changes to provide early warning of skin cancer. This is what early detection of the most common civilization diseases could look like in the future. Because the so-called wearables already record our health data today.
These technologies are not yet an integral part of our everyday life. But measures that help to maintain our health are being sought. In blood and urine we can already find signs of certain diseases long before pain or other complaints occur. Information that we can use to influence later developments and prevent diseases. Stay healthy.

Check-ups

Long before you feel that something in your body is possibly wrong, preventive diagnostics can reveal impending illnesses or health problems. Specialist societies recommend having certain blood and urine values tested regularly for

  • Cardiovascular system
  • Liver
  • Osteoporosis
  • Kidney
  • Diabetes

Risk Stratification

  • hsCRP: The highly sensitive C-reactive protein (hsCRP) is a biomarker that indicates inflammatory processes in the body. An hsCRP determination helps to detect early on whether an inflammatory disease or infection is present and in what degree of severity.
  • Suspicion of hypercholesterolemia: Behind a significantly elevated cholesterol level is sometimes a hereditary lipid metabolism disorder that can lead to heart attack and stroke at a young age. A genetic test reliably confirms a suspected diagnosis.
  • Lp-PLA2: This inflammatory enzyme is considered a reliable, independent marker in individual cardiovascular risk stratification for heart attack and stroke.
  • apoE : The apolipoprotein E (ApoE) genotype is the largest known genetic risk factor for the late form of Alzheimer's dementia

If you have any questions about these and other risk stratification measures, we are happy to answer them.

Healthy teeth? Find out

Red bite marks on the apple, blood on the dental floss: You should not ignore these warning signs. If left untreated, a prolonged inflammation of the gums can lead to periodontitis (peri-implantitis in implant recipients). Inflammations in the mouth also increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Serious interactions of periodontitis with chronic diseases such as diabetes and rheumatism are also known. Our laboratory tests can help:

  • Bacteria detection: antibiotics only when necessary
  • aMMP-8 test: Detecting changes (even) earlier
  • Genetic risk test: knowing the personal risk

When were you last vaccinated?

You've forgotten and no longer  an overview of the vaccination status?
No problem: At Bioscientia we have the possibility to check your vaccination protection with a blood sample - i.e. to measure against which infectious diseases the organism has already produced antibodies. This can be useful, for example to avoid over-immunisation with potential side effects. Every adult should be immunised against tetanus (tetanus), diphtheria and poliomyelitis (polio). Please contact us if you would like us to determine the vaccination status for you.
